Working in IT is a vocation. Ther ereally is no middle ground, you can’t just like it a little bit and still make a career out of it. If you are fanatically into it you will make it and enjoy it, if not it will eventually become a burden.
I have worked in IT for many many years, more then I care to think about, and it still excites me to open my browser in the morning and read all the tech news and developements together witht he rest of the world news.
During the .com bubble I was lucky enough to make decent money but not obscene and no stock options in any of the millions of failures. I have witnessed many IT projects fail because the business side was not taken into account or because the person leadingthe project was to useless. Especialy during the bubble this happened a lot and money was being spent like it was going out of fashion.
I believe strongly in sharing information and learning from each other so comments and corctions to my posts are more then welcome and I try my best to correct things where necessary.
A veteran IT guy writing a blog is nothing new but hopefully I can still help a little bit by providing usefull information.
